GET more work with these tips

The film industry is very unique. It never stops working and wants what it needs, right now! There are many tips you should know in order to work as often as possible.

  1. Keep in touch with you agent/s
    1. Update your availability calendar on a regular basis. Make sure if you mark yourself as available that you can work the ENTIRE day. Make changes, if necessary, as soon as possible.
    2. Let you agent/s know of any availability changes right away and be sure to update your Action Extra profile asap.
    3. Call back your agent! Bookings fill up very quickly! If you wait to call back your agent, the spot could be gone so check your messages often! (As a courtesy, please call back asap even if you are not available. You may have been asked for specifically and casting would like to know if they need to move on to another performer.)

  2. Be professional on set!
    1. You may think no one is looking, but bad behaviour is always noticed and will not be tolerated.
    2. The wrangler/s on set work directly for Background Casting. They pass on information about who is great and who needs to go.

  3. Increase your wardrobe
    1. Having a varied wardrobe will increase your chances of working. Buisness suits, trendy clothes, military boots, cop shoes and winter/summer/fall clothes in set friendly colours (no white, head-to-toe black, red or neons, or anything with a logo), will help get you work. Remember that most days, you will be asked to bring 3 to 4 complete changes of clothing appropriate for the scene.

  4. Be Available
    1. Most productions work Monday to Friday. It is rare to shoot on the weekends or holidays. To be considered available for any given day, you must be available the full 24hrs. When your agent books you, they will not know when the day will start or end in advance.
    2. The more you are available, the better chance you will have to work!
